Polyurethane products mainly include the following: foam plastics, elastomers, fiber plastics, fibers, leather and shoe resins, coatings, adhesives and sealants, etc.

Polyurethane is a widely used synthetic material with diverse properties and applications. One important way to classify it is by its hydrophilic groups. The hydrophilic groups determine the interaction between polyurethane materials and water molecules, thus affecting their behavior and application performance in water environments.

Polyurethane is a widely used synthetic material with diverse properties and application fields. One of the important classification methods is to classify it according to its hydrophilic groups. The hydrophilic group determines the interaction between the polyurethane material and the water molecules, thus affecting its behavior and application performance in the water environment.

In the classification of polyurethane, it can be divided into three categories according to the different ionic groups and charge types contained: anionic, cationic and non-ionic.

First, anionic polyurethane refers to a type of polyurethane containing anionic groups in its molecular chain. This type of polyurethane can form negatively charged molecules in water, thus having strong hydrophilicity. Due to the presence of anionic groups, anionic polyurethanes are easy to react with other cations in electrolyte solutions to form stable complexes. Therefore, anionic polyurethanes are widely used in coatings, adhesives and other fields.

Secondly, cationic polyurethane refers to a type of polyurethane containing cationic groups in its molecular chain. In contrast to anionic polyurethanes, cationic polyurethanes can form positively charged molecules in water and also have strong hydrophilicity. The presence of cationic groups makes it easy for cationic polyurethane to react with other anions in electrolyte solutions to form stable complexes. Therefore, cationic polyurethane is widely used in cosmetics, textiles and other fields.

Finally, non-ionic polyurethane refers to a type of polyurethane that does not contain ionic groups in its molecular chain. Due to the absence of ionic groups, non-ionic polyurethane is relatively weak in hydrophilicity in water, but has good stability. Non-ionic polyurethane has excellent water resistance, weather resistance and chemical corrosion resistance, so it is widely used in construction, automobiles and other fields.

In summary, polyurethane can be divided into three categories according to the different hydrophilic groups: anionic, cationic and non-ionic. Different types of polyurethane have different properties and application fields. Choosing suitable polyurethane materials is of great significance to improving product quality and performance.
